Never did I think I would be going to a Black Veil Bride concert. Nor did I think it would be my first concert ever. September 25th of 2023 here I am with my one and only Yukta. I remember being woken up in the middle of the night by her really excited to go to a BVB concert especially it being a block away from my work. We met up and got Thai food at a place called RaCha Thai. This was my second time here at this location, but the food was absolutely amazing! We found out they have a cool lunch special deal. An appetizer, a main course, a drink, and a dessert for $26. It was such a steal we ordered 2.
I got the Tum Yum Soup without shrimp as the appetizer while Yu got the Spring Egg Rolls. I have had and made the tum yum soup before. So this version had a tang of sweetness to it while it was supposed to be spicy. The spring rolls were absolutely delicious. It came with this sweet chili sauce.
For the main course, Yu got the Drunken Noodles with Tofu and I got the Basil Fried Rice with Tofu. This is our usual pairing whenever we go to Thai restaurants. We have gone to a lot of Thai restaurants over the years. So you can say we have become connoisseurs specifically of Drunken Noodles and Basil Fried Rice. So it means a lot when we say the Drunken Noodles at this place is easily one of the top 5 noodles we have had. It was a perfect amount of cooked, flavor, and heat. As for the rice it was good which I genuinely enjoyed. I’m not sure if it hits my top 5 mostly because I can’t remember what is my top 5 but it was delicious.
For our drinks, Yu got the Thai Iced Coffee and I got the That Iced Tea. That order could be reserved I don’t know. We share everything 50/50 anyway. Both were good but I preferred the coffee.
Finally comes dessert. I will probably come back and edit this as I don’t remember the names. One was a friend banana type of dessert and the other was some type of Ice cream. Overall really good. The whole restaurant was a 10/10. The service was amazing and explained how the sauces are and what not to eat as a vegetarian. We also learned some history, this being a third-generation restaurant originating from Queens. What a journey it must have been for them. Finally, I asked how to say Thank you in Thai which is pronounced as Kap Kun. The service was amazing, the food was great, and Yu and I loved this place.
As I am writing this and am now five paragraphs in, I am not sure where to take my posts. What are memories? I just wrote a review for a restaurant. How does one describe a good time? I’m not sure especially as this is the beginning. I am sure I’ll figure it out eventually what my flow is. Anyway heres a picture of yu and me at the restaurant.
After taking a much-needed car nap to rest and recuperate before the concert, we stopped at the Spotlight Bar in the Paramount Theatre for a couple of drinks. I have a very big sweet tooth when it comes to drinks, has to be as sweet as possible. I believe we got a vodka sunrise. I could be wrong. Yu ordered it. We also got some potato wedges to snack on. I almost forgot we had some green tea shots. Man, I love a green tea shot.
Man, she really is the most amazing woman in my life. Just look how hot she is here. She brings out a person within me to try new things I would never do otherwise. I had a really good time at this bar and concert. I can’t wait to do more things with her. After the bar, we went into the concert venue, and Yu bought a BVB tote bag. It looked pretty cool. There were 2 openers before BVB came on. My memory is honestly terrible and I can’t remember the names of the other 2 bands. The first band was more metal than the second one. I enjoyed the first one more within the comfort of my earplugs than the second one.
Finally, BVB comes on and it is a blast. I loved seeing how happy Yu was living out her young childhood dreams. That memory will live on in my mind for the rest of my life. I may not be too into concerts but I love going with her and it’s such a blast when we are together and having fun. I’ll always do a thousand concerts if it’s with her. Thanks for taking me to my first concert babe. I really enjoyed it. I love you. – R
